
This is a view of the tower at WB4GWA. It is 120 feet high and about 950 feet above sea level at its base.

I enjoy Amateur Radio as my only real hobby. I especially enjoy AM as you will see in the photos below of my shack. These are some of the vintage radios I could not afford when I was a kid.


Heavy Iron. This is a Gates BC1G with the front cover removed so we can see the tubes...833s. There are many hams now restoring broadcast transmitters simply because of the nice sound of them. This one was at WDLP in Florida before the station went dark.
This is Mollie. An old fashioned 1930s design. However, it has modern tubes. A 4-1000 in the final and 4-400s in the modulator. I just wanted it to look old...If you look at old QST magazines, you will see these kinds of rigs in the corner of an old timer's shack.
